Its prom and formal dance season….  Its a rite of passage for many junior and senior high school students..  For the girls, its all about the dress!!  Why wear the dress once for just  a few hours…  When you are finished with all the formal pomp and circumstance, the dress gets hung in a closet and rarely used again.

I have an awesome  idea!!  Why not bring your prom dress to your senior portrait session and have fun with the dress.  Yes …..  Fun!!    Wear your dress as part of your senior portrait shoot!!  Add a  casual formal dimension to your senior memories!!!

Brittany choose to add the casual formal look to her session!!

The last year of high school is exciting and bitter sweet.  As a Senior in high school the excitement of moving on gains momentum as the semesters progress.  Culminating in graduation.  As a parent I wanted to hold on to each milestone tightly and make it last.  It is the last year of teenage innocence and once they leave home, their journey  to adulthood commences.   Adding additional poses to your senior photography session and collecting them in a Senior Memory book is an excellent way to hold on the memories and images of that last year of innocence.

Even your favorite sundress can be highlighted!!

For the gentlemen we can highlight their favorite sport in a new and interesting way!!!  Taylor LOVES golf and he swings a smoking hot club!!!

Playing with fire is TONS of fun!!!

Tyler expresses a more thoughtful expression…  Contemplating the highlights of the up and coming senior year!!!  I stole this idea from one of my favorite sculptors Auguste  Rodin.

The Thinker!!

I find inspiration for your portrait session everywhere.  Life and art are everywhere and each photographic session is individual and unique!  Each portrait session is an expression of you.  Your senior session is designed to be fun.  I am just a big kid with a camera and LOVE to capture and create the best images of YOU!!

Happiness to all!  Have an awesome day!!!

Living with Bella, my 3 1/2 month old puppy is not dull.  Things that I do not even see become a play thing or something to chase.  Its kinda fun to look at the world the way Bella does…  Its rather simple.  Pet me, feed me, play with me, walk me, hug me, love me, and the most difficult speak DOG to me.   Puppy training class is taking care of the language barrier.  The rest just comes naturally!  Yesterday I decided it was time for Bella to have her second portrait session.  I found this un-stuffed raccoon toy with a squeaky head and tail.   Terriers are hunters of vermin.  I  thought it would look really cool to have a photograph of her holding her “kill” lol.  She did not disappoint me.

She is always keeping her eye on me!

I have forgotten how hard puppies play!!  She is so busy and cheerful!!

Bella in a more serene moment!

I really want Bella to like and enjoy having her photograph taken…  I think I really have a lot of obedience and socialization work ahead!!

She loves to show off!!

Here is the look I was trying to achieve.!!!  She is so delightful to have around!!    I feel so lucky and blessed to have found her.!!!

She was successful in her hunt!!

We have some chipmunks living under the garage….  She has located their entrance and exit…  I think it will be interesting to watch her hunt them…  Of course I really don’t think she can catch them.  I hear their warning chirp when we step outside.  lol  She runs around to sniff and nose around but the chipmunks are just too fast!! The adventures of Bella should keep me amused for many years to come.

Peace and happiness to all!!

Olivia is 1

May 4, 2010

Olivia has been my baby model for the past year.  Today we are having her big splash birthday bash.   I can’t believe she is 1 year old.

Olivia's 6 month session

Olivia is such a happy baby!!!    We had tons of fun  at her 9 month session!!!

A Little W'boro Warrior!!

Olivia’s dad was a High school football player…..  Of course Oscar loved a portrait of his little girl wearing  a warrior team hat!!!    Kelly, Olivia’s mom and Oscar were students in High school along with my children…  I find it a privledge and a blessing I get to enjoy former students children.

Today’s session will be sort of bitter sweet.   Its Olivia’s last session…  Boo Hoo…..    Fortunately I also work with Olivia’s grandmother so I will be able to keep up with her adventures in growing up….

Can we say toddler plan??  lol

I must get back to work!!  Have an Awesome Day!!!!

Puppy Love

May 3, 2010

If you have been following me on facebook you know I have adopted a puppy.  Puppy Love is the best whay to describe my feelings.  I am a dog lover.   For years I have been envious of anyone with a dog.   I always felt the time was just not right.  One morning I woke up and realized that there was never going to be a just right time.  I am introducing Bella she is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.  Not only is she adorable but I guess I am as happy as  a pig in slop…… lol.

Bella  and I have puppy adventures.  I am learning to listen to the nuances in her behavior.  I have learned how to realize that certain whines mean I need to go potty…  lol

We go to puppy school on Sunday mornings..  That is mostly human training on how to speak DOG….  that elusive language for obediance.

A well behaved dog is usually welcome everywhere..  where a poorly behaved dog is not welcome anywhere….  I want Bella welcome everywhere.

Bella at 3 months old!!

Bella at 3 months old!!

The nicest aspect of owning a dog is that she is always happy to see me!!    According to research when a person pets a dog the brain releases oxytocin into your blood stream.  This chemical is related to serotonin.  All really important chemicals for brain function.  lol  I guess now that I am a dog owner my brain will function better????

Basically I am proud and excited to welcome Bella into my home….  Inky the cat does have other feelings…  we can explore Inky’s  feelings another day!

Have an awesome Day!!
